Clarifying

So, I know I had said that I hope less frequent updates will result in more "popularity," but that is primarily for humor. Really, I hope to become less dependent upon social media. Just thought I would clear that up.

Why?

A question everyone wants the answer to when a blog is first published. Why? Because it is expected that the blogger will tell his or her readers (or mom) why his or her soul is being laid out raw, bare, for all to see on the internet. In my case, I am blogging because I realized today that I use instant social media far too frequently.
I updated my Facebook status and Tweeted 9 times. (Wow, only 9? It sure felt like a lot more.) While for some, that may just have gotten you through your morning routine, to me, that seems a bit much. Maybe. I started to become paranoid that people were getting annoyed with my frequent updates when my notifications gradually decreased in quantity.
"Are they not funny enough?" "Are they too 'pop culture'?" "Too many inside jokes?"
These questions haunted me all day. Less updates may increase notifications thus increasing my social status (which, after all, is why we use social media). But how can I continue to document my thoughts, actions, and observations without a massive deluge? *lightbulb* Blogging! But isn't blogging kind of early 2K? Maybe. But we shall see. I had a blog once... lasted 3 weeks... I think. (Hm... what ever happened to that?) Now, seeing as this is the start of the summer, I may just have created this blog out of boredom (probably) but hopefully this shall be the cure for my instant social media disease. (Labels are like hashtags? #amiright? #reallyhopeimright).
So. Here's the deal. Since most (90%) of my status updates and Tweets are provided via my HTC Hero and TweetCaster, I have (hopefully) found an app that will allow me to blog on the go! Wha-ho! If not, I'm not sure what I will do. Maybe just use a note app? So, while this blog may have long posts such as this (I'm planning on publishing one of my answers for an exam I just finished), mostly it will be sort of bullet points of would-be tweets or statuses. Here goes...
